Ploto's engine is built on logic and math, not language prediction. It reads your data's structure directly, so results are consistent and reproducible every time. And unlike a chatbot, you stay in control. You choose the columns, switch chart types, adjust aggregations, and fine-tune the output through a real UI, not by rephrasing a prompt and hoping for the best.

Yes. Every file you upload is scoped to your account using row-level security. No other user can access your data, and we never use uploaded data for AI training.

Ploto accepts CSV & Excel files (.xlsx, .xls), Google Sheets links, or manual-entry of the data. Data is parsed on our servers, so column types & data profiles are detected automatically.

Ploto works best with datasets up to around 100,000–150,000 rows, or roughly 25 MB. Within that range, charts generate quickly and everything stays responsive. Ploto is not a big-data tool. It's not built to process millions of rows, replace a data warehouse, or handle streaming data. If your file is larger, we recommend filtering or sampling it down before uploading. Most meaningful visualizations only need a representative slice of the data anyway.

When you select columns, Ploto's engine matches your columns to the best chart pattern based on the column's profiles and the data itself. The engine is based on logic & math first. AI is only used when needed

Yes. After a chart is generated you can pick from a panel of valid alternatives for the same column selection. You can also regenerate with a different aggregation method (mean, sum, count, etc.) based on Ploto's suggestions.

Ploto gives you a suggestions panel the moment you open a dataset. It shows valid chart combinations based on its understanding of the data and what might be interesting for you to discover.

Yes. Every chart can be exported as a PNG, Instagram-optimzed PNG, or SVG

Basic edits are supported: you can delete columns, remove rows, and change a column's data type without leaving Ploto. For heavier transformations — reshaping, merging, or formula-based changes — you'll need to make those edits in your original file and re-upload. Ploto is a visualization tool first, so we keep editing lightweight by design.
